Remember taking on our 30 day challenges will help you to create a healthier life style over time. The ideabatman kitchen gadgets is that you invest in one of these products, and that you would put it to use 2-3 times a week for 30 days.  It is human nature to want to use something you’ve just spent your hard earned money on, and after a constant effort of only 30 days, the hope is that using the gadget becomes part of your everyday, or at least weekly habits in the kitchen.  Lifestyle change will take time, and some may decide the gadget doesn’t work, but this isn’t failure, move on, and take another challenge. For all the details checkout the post on 30 day challenge ideas, or our list of nutrition challenges here.
Measure Meal Size and Calories

1) Portion plates are an inexpensive product that we’ll help remind you that you need to consume a good portion of protein before before you feel full.  Of course, they will also remind you to consume some vegetables too.  Affordable and easy effort level make these a great 30 day challenge.

2) Meal Measuring product does what the name suggests…see the video for details below!

3) Dietary Scales aren’t the least expensive of nutrition gadgets, but they can really help you keep track of your calories. As the name suggests they measure the weight of your food, and some allow you to input the the exact type of food, and so will display very detailed calorie, protein, carbohydrate, and fat readings for that food.

Speed Cooking 101
4) The slow cooker is a useful nutrition gadget you may already have, but if you don’t think you really need to invest.  Imagine throwing a few things in your slow cooker before you head off to work in the morning, and when you return your house smells wonderful, and your meal is completely cooked.
5) The George Foreman Grill is something you most likely used in college, but it isn’t just for college students.  The grill can cook frozen meat fast, and even grills vegetables too.  Make sure the George Foreman Grill is one of your gadgets for nutritional success.
6) Stainless Steel Vegetable Steamer is another one of our most useful kitchen gadgets that often gets over looked.  It is however, an easy an effective way to heat up your frozen vegetables. Simply pour a cup of water into a pot, and place the steamer inside, bring the water to a boil, and the steam defrosts and heats up your frozen vegetables.  Add a little lemon juice to the vegetable to help them taste even better!
Food Processors
7) Juicers are a great way to get some vegetable and fruit in your diet. Mixing up vegetables and fruit can make for a tasty way to take in those three to four vegetables a day, just don’t over do it on carrots, and use a variety of different coloured fruits and vegetables, as different colors mean different vitamins and minerals, suggests Jennifer Barr, a Wilmington, dietitian. You can see my favourite juice here.
8) VeggiChop – Imagine being able to quickly slice up a tray of vegetables to place in your fridge for snacks.  Over the course of 30 days this could mean a lot more vegetables are consumed, and maybe this could even become a long-term habit..? The Veggi Chop is one of many useful kitchen gadgets you can find on
9) The Blender – Like the juicer the blender is a great way to include extra vegetables in daily routine.  The superhero food spinach blends extremely well with the normal bananas and whey protein. A smoothie breakfast is just another way that you can get rid of the high sugar wheat products that contribute to many of our weight problems as suggested by William Davis Cardiologist and author of ‘Wheat Belly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight.’
So it’s time to take action and purchase a useful kitchen gadget, but you may be thinking, what if I waste my money? Well don’t, pick a challenge and stick with it for 30 days.  You’re more likely to stick with something if you’ve invested a little cash, and with some of these products costing less then $10 we aren’t talking about a lot of cash.
